Posljednjih smo mjeseci često čuli termin koronaparty, većinom s negativnom konotacijom. No neki znanstvenici smatraju da bi, ako uskoro ne dođe do iskorijenjenja koronavirusa, takve zarazne zabave možda čak trebale biti i poželjne, piše Jutarnji list.
Iako je u startu naišao na upozorenja drugih znanstvenika oko toga da se još uvijek ne znaju dugoročne posljedice zaraze koronavirusom, jednu takvu teoriju je iznio Paul Lehner, profesor imunologije na Sveučilištu Cambridge. On je na briefingu kojeg je organizirala tvrtka Science Media, kako prenosi The Guardian, predložio da se mlade, dok je njihov rizik za teže simptome mali, pozove da sudjeluju na zabavama na kojima su velike šanse da dobiju virus.
- Bit ću optimist oko ovoga i reći da ne mislim da je virus toliko neuobičajen da će nas izbrisati ili natjerati da moramo živjeti na ovaj čudnovati način na koji trenutno živimo - rekao je Lehner, piše The Guardian, pa nastavio:
- Mislim da će ovaj virus postati sličan kao četiri endemska koronavirusa koji uzrokuju običnu prehladu. Protiv njega ćete se ili cijepiti ili ga dobiti dok ste još mladi, a mladi ljudi se od virusa ne razbolijevaju - objasnio je svoje mišljenje, dodajući da je koncept zabava te vrste sličan onima koje se organiziraju kada djeca trebaju dobiti vodene kozice.
- No trebamo još pričekati da vidimo je li ovakav model doista moguć - rekao je, stavljajući naglasak na to da još uvijek treba biti na oprezu.
Dok većina znanstvenika još nije sigurna stvara li se nakon obolijevanja od korone uopće ikakav imunitet, Lehner je i po tome pitanju optimist, pa tvrdi da ponovnih zaraza dolazi rijetko, a i kad dođe, one su puno manje opake od prvih. Dodao je da se nada da se imuniteti ljudi mogu boriti s virusima.
No, njegovi su kolege znanstvenici puno oprezniji oko ove ideje. David Heymann, epidemiolog i profesor na London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, je upozorio:
- Jedan od mogućih scenarija je taj da će Sars-VoV2 doista postati kao ostala četiri koronavirusa, no njegova finalna sudbina još nije poznata. Još uvijek ne znamo dugoročne posljedice virusa, čak ni kod onih koji su mladi i koji su ga preboljeli asimptomatski. Također, još se ne zna koliko bi mogao trejati potencijalni imunitet. Ne znamo puno ni o imunitetu onih koji su ga preboljeli asimptomatski jer u većini slučajeva nisu bili testirani - zaključio je.

Posljednjih smo mjeseci često čuli termin koronaparty, većinom s negativnom konotacijom. No neki znanstvenici smatraju da bi, ako uskoro ne dođe do iskorijenjenja koronavirusa, takve zarazne zabave možda čak trebale biti i poželjne, piše Jutarnji list.
Iako je u startu naišao na upozorenja drugih znanstvenika oko toga da se još uvijek ne znaju dugoročne posljedice zaraze koronavirusom, jednu takvu teoriju je iznio Paul Lehner, profesor imunologije na Sveučilištu Cambridge. On je na briefingu kojeg je organizirala tvrtka Science Media, kako prenosi The Guardian, predložio da se mlade, dok je njihov rizik za teže simptome mali, pozove da sudjeluju na zabavama na kojima su velike šanse da dobiju virus.
- Bit ću optimist oko ovoga i reći da ne mislim da je virus toliko neuobičajen da će nas izbrisati ili natjerati da moramo živjeti na ovaj čudnovati način na koji trenutno živimo - rekao je Lehner, piše The Guardian, pa nastavio:
- Mislim da će ovaj virus postati sličan kao četiri endemska koronavirusa koji uzrokuju običnu prehladu. Protiv njega ćete se ili cijepiti ili ga dobiti dok ste još mladi, a mladi ljudi se od virusa ne razbolijevaju - objasnio je svoje mišljenje, dodajući da je koncept zabava te vrste sličan onima koje se organiziraju kada djeca trebaju dobiti vodene kozice.
- No trebamo još pričekati da vidimo je li ovakav model doista moguć - rekao je, stavljajući naglasak na to da još uvijek treba biti na oprezu.
Dok većina znanstvenika još nije sigurna stvara li se nakon obolijevanja od korone uopće ikakav imunitet, Lehner je i po tome pitanju optimist, pa tvrdi da ponovnih zaraza dolazi rijetko, a i kad dođe, one su puno manje opake od prvih. Dodao je da se nada da se imuniteti ljudi mogu boriti s virusima.
No, njegovi su kolege znanstvenici puno oprezniji oko ove ideje. David Heymann, epidemiolog i profesor na London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, je upozorio:
- Jedan od mogućih scenarija je taj da će Sars-VoV2 doista postati kao ostala četiri koronavirusa, no njegova finalna sudbina još nije poznata. Još uvijek ne znamo dugoročne posljedice virusa, čak ni kod onih koji su mladi i koji su ga preboljeli asimptomatski. Također, još se ne zna koliko bi mogao trejati potencijalni imunitet. Ne znamo puno ni o imunitetu onih koji su ga preboljeli asimptomatski jer u većini slučajeva nisu bili testirani - zaključio je.
