Američka biotehnološka tvrtka Moderna, jedna od tvrtki koja je najdalje dogurala u razvoju cjepiva protiv Covida-19, rekla je da će od američkih i europskih regulatornih tijela zatražiti hitno dopuštenje za korištenje svog cjepiva u hitnim slučajevima jer je nova studija pokazala da cjepivo snažno štiti od bolesti, piše The Associated Press, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Cjepivo je potrebno da bi svijet mogao zauzdati pandemiju koronavirusa, koja je tijekom posljednjih mjeseci ojačala i u Europi i u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama.

Moderna je svoje cjepivo radila u suradnji s Američkim nacionalnim zdravstvenim institutom. Premda već postoje indikacije da će njihovo cjepivo funkcionirati, istraživanje provedeno prošlog vikenda sugerira da će Modernino cjepivo imati učinkovitost od više od 94 posto.

"Ovo je zapanjujuće", rekao je za CNN dr. Paul Offit, član nadzornog odbora za cjepiva Agencije za lijekove Sjedinjenih Američkih Država. "Ovo su čudesni podaci."

Dr. Tal Zaks, voditelj odjela za medicinu u Moderni, rekao je da je u najnovijoj studiji učinkovitosti cjepiva provedenoj u SAD-u sudjelovalo 196 oboljelih od Covida-19. Stotinu osamdeset i pet sudionika ispitivanja dobilo je placebo, a 11 ih je dobilo cjepivo. Jedine osobe kojima se zdravstveno stanje pogoršalo - njih 30, među kojima je i jedna osoba koja je umrla - bile su u skupini ispitanika koja je dobila placebo.

"Dopustio sam si da zaplačem kada smo dobili rezultate", rekao je Zaks za The Associated Press. "Već smo u ovom ispitivanju učinkovitosti cjepiva spasili živote. Zamislite utjecaj ovoga na veći broj ljudi."

Moderna je rekla da učinkovitost i sigurnost cjepiva znači da ispunjavaju uvjete Agencije za hranu i lijekove SAD-a za korištenje u hitnim slučajevima. Europska agencija za lijekove također je nagovijestila da je otvorena za brže odobravanje cjepiva za upotrebu.

Agencija za lijekove i hranu SAD-a obvezala se da će provesti javnu znanstvenu debatu o količini dokaza da neko cjepivo funkcionira. Tvrtke Pfizer i BioNTech podatke o svom cjepivu za koje tvrde da je 95 posto učinkovito predstavit će 10. prosinca. Moderna je rekla da će oni na to tzv. "znanstveno ročište" doći 17. prosinca.

Ako se Modernino cjepivo odobri za hitnu upotrebu, tvrtka kaže da bi do kraja godine za američko tržište mogla proizvesti 20 milijuna doza. Kako je Modernino cjepivo dvodozno, to znači da će se 10 milijuna ljudi njime moći cijepiti. Pfizer očekuje da će u prosincu na raspolaganju imati 50 milijuna doza, odnosno da će se njime moći cijepiti 25 milijuna ljudi.

Zaks je rekao da će Moderna neameričko tržište cjepivima snabdjeti u prvom kvartalu 2021. godine. "Radimo sve što možemo da povećamo proizvodne kapacitete", dodao je Zaks.

Cjepivo AstraZenece jeftinije je i stoji oko 4 dolara (3,3 eura) po dozi, Pfizerovo 20 dolara (16,6 eura), a Modernino 33 dolara (25 eura). Pogodnije je i za distribuciju jer ne zahtijeva jako niske temperature za skladištenje.

Američka biotehnološka tvrtka Moderna, jedna od tvrtki koja je najdalje dogurala u razvoju cjepiva protiv Covida-19, rekla je da će od američkih i europskih regulatornih tijela zatražiti hitno dopuštenje za korištenje svog cjepiva u hitnim slučajevima jer je nova studija pokazala da cjepivo snažno štiti od bolesti, piše The Associated Press, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Cjepivo je potrebno da bi svijet mogao zauzdati pandemiju koronavirusa, koja je tijekom posljednjih mjeseci ojačala i u Europi i u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama.

Moderna je svoje cjepivo radila u suradnji s Američkim nacionalnim zdravstvenim institutom. Premda već postoje indikacije da će njihovo cjepivo funkcionirati, istraživanje provedeno prošlog vikenda sugerira da će Modernino cjepivo imati učinkovitost od više od 94 posto.

"Ovo je zapanjujuće", rekao je za CNN dr. Paul Offit, član nadzornog odbora za cjepiva Agencije za lijekove Sjedinjenih Američkih Država. "Ovo su čudesni podaci."

Dr. Tal Zaks, voditelj odjela za medicinu u Moderni, rekao je da je u najnovijoj studiji učinkovitosti cjepiva provedenoj u SAD-u sudjelovalo 196 oboljelih od Covida-19. Stotinu osamdeset i pet sudionika ispitivanja dobilo je placebo, a 11 ih je dobilo cjepivo. Jedine osobe kojima se zdravstveno stanje pogoršalo - njih 30, među kojima je i jedna osoba koja je umrla - bile su u skupini ispitanika koja je dobila placebo.

"Dopustio sam si da zaplačem kada smo dobili rezultate", rekao je Zaks za The Associated Press. "Već smo u ovom ispitivanju učinkovitosti cjepiva spasili živote. Zamislite utjecaj ovoga na veći broj ljudi."

Moderna je rekla da učinkovitost i sigurnost cjepiva znači da ispunjavaju uvjete Agencije za hranu i lijekove SAD-a za korištenje u hitnim slučajevima. Europska agencija za lijekove također je nagovijestila da je otvorena za brže odobravanje cjepiva za upotrebu.

Agencija za lijekove i hranu SAD-a obvezala se da će provesti javnu znanstvenu debatu o količini dokaza da neko cjepivo funkcionira. Tvrtke Pfizer i BioNTech podatke o svom cjepivu za koje tvrde da je 95 posto učinkovito predstavit će 10. prosinca. Moderna je rekla da će oni na to tzv. "znanstveno ročište" doći 17. prosinca.

Ako se Modernino cjepivo odobri za hitnu upotrebu, tvrtka kaže da bi do kraja godine za američko tržište mogla proizvesti 20 milijuna doza. Kako je Modernino cjepivo dvodozno, to znači da će se 10 milijuna ljudi njime moći cijepiti. Pfizer očekuje da će u prosincu na raspolaganju imati 50 milijuna doza, odnosno da će se njime moći cijepiti 25 milijuna ljudi.

Američka biotehnološka tvrtka Moderna, jedna od tvrtki koja je najdalje dogurala u razvoju cjepiva protiv Covida-19, rekla je da će od američkih i europskih regulatornih tijela zatražiti hitno dopuštenje za korištenje svog cjepiva u hitnim slučajevima jer je nova studija pokazala da cjepivo snažno štiti od bolesti, piše The Associated Press, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Cjepivo je potrebno da bi svijet mogao zauzdati pandemiju koronavirusa, koja je tijekom posljednjih mjeseci ojačala i u Europi i u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama.

Moderna je svoje cjepivo radila u suradnji s Američkim nacionalnim zdravstvenim institutom. Premda već postoje indikacije da će njihovo cjepivo funkcionirati, istraživanje provedeno prošlog vikenda sugerira da će Modernino cjepivo imati učinkovitost od više od 94 posto.

"Ovo je zapanjujuće", rekao je za CNN dr. Paul Offit, član nadzornog odbora za cjepiva Agencije za lijekove Sjedinjenih Američkih Država. "Ovo su čudesni podaci."

Dr. Tal Zaks, voditelj odjela za medicinu u Moderni, rekao je da je u najnovijoj studiji učinkovitosti cjepiva provedenoj u SAD-u sudjelovalo 196 oboljelih od Covida-19. Stotinu osamdeset i pet sudionika ispitivanja dobilo je placebo, a 11 ih je dobilo cjepivo. Jedine osobe kojima se zdravstveno stanje pogoršalo - njih 30, među kojima je i jedna osoba koja je umrla - bile su u skupini ispitanika koja je dobila placebo.

"Dopustio sam si da zaplačem kada smo dobili rezultate", rekao je Zaks za The Associated Press. "Već smo u ovom ispitivanju učinkovitosti cjepiva spasili živote. Zamislite utjecaj ovoga na veći broj ljudi."

Moderna je rekla da učinkovitost i sigurnost cjepiva znači da ispunjavaju uvjete Agencije za hranu i lijekove SAD-a za korištenje u hitnim slučajevima. Europska agencija za lijekove također je nagovijestila da je otvorena za brže odobravanje cjepiva za upotrebu.

Agencija za lijekove i hranu SAD-a obvezala se da će provesti javnu znanstvenu debatu o količini dokaza da neko cjepivo funkcionira. Tvrtke Pfizer i BioNTech podatke o svom cjepivu za koje tvrde da je 95 posto učinkovito predstavit će 10. prosinca. Moderna je rekla da će oni na to tzv. "znanstveno ročište" doći 17. prosinca.

Ako se Modernino cjepivo odobri za hitnu upotrebu, tvrtka kaže da bi do kraja godine za američko tržište mogla proizvesti 20 milijuna doza. Kako je Modernino cjepivo dvodozno, to znači da će se 10 milijuna ljudi njime moći cijepiti. Pfizer očekuje da će u prosincu na raspolaganju imati 50 milijuna doza, odnosno da će se njime moći cijepiti 25 milijuna ljudi.
