Danas je školska dvorana na Ravnim njivama dobila novo ime- Žana Lelas. U spomen na veliku košarkašicu iz Splita, tamo gdje i danas djeluje njezin klub, akademija poznatija kao KAŽL. 

Vrlo emotivno je bilo na svečanosti, u školi u kojoj od prije živi još jedno veliko ime hrvatske košarke. Školsko sportsko društvo nosi naziv Dražen Petrović, a nije ni slučajno odabran današnji datum. Za dva dana, 28. Svibnja Žana bi proslavila svoj 53. rođendan, a također početkom šestog mjeseca, obilježava se dan kada nas je napustio i “košarkaški Mozart”.

Ceremonija je bila dirljiva i rijetki su mogli suzdržati suze. Posebno emotivno je bilo za one koji su poznavali Žanu, jer kako je rekao ravnatelj škole Miljenko Bitanga, vjerojatno ne postoji ni jedna osoba koja je mogla reći nešto loše o velikoj hrvatskoj košarkašici.  

Djeca raduju

Bilo je tu poznatih imena, svečanost je upriličio i dožupan Stipe Čogelja, kao i Mario Negotić, pročelnik za društvene djelatnosti grada Splita. Međutim, možda je najljepše bilo vidjeti veliki broj djece, ponajviše djevojaka, iz košarkaške akademije Žana Lelas. Klub i dalje djeluje i niže velike uspjehe. Vjekoslav Lokica, trudi se nastaviti ono što su on i Žana zajedno gradili: 

- Maksimalno se trudimo, nije lagano. Imamo vrhunsku trenericu u klubu. Uvijek su naravno u sportu, a posebno u amaterskom problem financije. Ali nastojimo u svim segmentima da ta sjećanja ostaju, da sva djeca znaju tko je i što je bila Žana Lelas - rekao je muž pokojne košarkašice. 

Osvrnuo se i na samu svečanost i odluku da dvorana dobije Žanino ime: 

- Lijepa gesta koja stvara jedno dugotrajno sjećanje. Ova škola je mjesto gdje je klub krenuo prvim koracima, a i danas smo tu.

Kao što smo napisali, nije se moglo neprimjetiti veliki broj djevojčica koje su bile na svečanosti, ali nažalost kao i u drugim sportovima, sve se manje njih odvažuje trenirati, a to je i potvrdio Lokica: 

Nova situacija

- Kada gledam unatrag kad je sve to krenulo i danas, ogromna je razlika u ponašanju djevojčica. Prije tim curama nije bilo ništa teško što se tiče košarke, danas nije takva situacija s novim generacijama.

Međutim, Lokica je otkrio kako je klub više od sporta, te kako se trude djevojke kroz košarku naučiti, pa možemo reći- životu. Na brojnim mjestima se to često zaboravlja, ali ovdje nije takav slučaj: 

- Klub nije samo košarka. Mi ovdje djecu prije svega nastojimo socijalizirati, dati im jednu odgovornost prema obavezama, drugoj djeci, protivnicama. Mislim da to sve skupa koristi i u daljnjem životu. Jednom mi je jedan roditelj rekao: “Zamislite ona se prvi put otuširala sa svojim suigračicama”, a sve su to stvari koje su jako bitne u razvoju djeteta. Naravno da u sportu ima uvijek i lijepih, ali i ružnih trenutaka. Nikad nije sve jednostrano, ali u svakom slučaju sigurni smo da je puno djece steklo dobre navike. Uostalom, sve djevojke koje su prestale igrati, sve su na fakultetima i sve su uspješne žene sada, zaključio je Lokica. 

Žana Lelas, ostat će zapamćena zauvijek. Međutim, ne "samo" zbog njezinih velikih uspjeha u bogatoj karijeri i imena školske dvorane. Već zbog svih tih djevojaka koje prolaze kroz klub, i koje će naučeno na košarkaškom terenu, nastaviti primjenjivati kroz život.

Danas je školska dvorana na Ravnim njivama dobila novo ime- Žana Lelas. U spomen na veliku košarkašicu iz Splita, tamo gdje i danas djeluje njezin klub, akademija poznatija kao KAŽL. 

Vrlo emotivno je bilo na svečanosti, u školi u kojoj od prije živi još jedno veliko ime hrvatske košarke. Školsko sportsko društvo nosi naziv Dražen Petrović, a nije ni slučajno odabran današnji datum. Za dva dana, 28. Svibnja Žana bi proslavila svoj 53. rođendan, a također početkom šestog mjeseca, obilježava se dan kada nas je napustio i “košarkaški Mozart”.

Ceremonija je bila dirljiva i rijetki su mogli suzdržati suze. Posebno emotivno je bilo za one koji su poznavali Žanu, jer kako je rekao ravnatelj škole Miljenko Bitanga, vjerojatno ne postoji ni jedna osoba koja je mogla reći nešto loše o velikoj hrvatskoj košarkašici.  

Djeca raduju

Bilo je tu poznatih imena, svečanost je upriličio i dožupan Stipe Čogelja, kao i Mario Negotić, pročelnik za društvene djelatnosti grada Splita. Međutim, možda je najljepše bilo vidjeti veliki broj djece, ponajviše djevojaka, iz košarkaške akademije Žana Lelas. Klub i dalje djeluje i niže velike uspjehe. Vjekoslav Lokica, trudi se nastaviti ono što su on i Žana zajedno gradili: 

- Maksimalno se trudimo, nije lagano. Imamo vrhunsku trenericu u klubu. Uvijek su naravno u sportu, a posebno u amaterskom problem financije. Ali nastojimo u svim segmentima da ta sjećanja ostaju, da sva djeca znaju tko je i što je bila Žana Lelas - rekao je muž pokojne košarkašice. 

Osvrnuo se i na samu svečanost i odluku da dvorana dobije Žanino ime: 

- Lijepa gesta koja stvara jedno dugotrajno sjećanje. Ova škola je mjesto gdje je klub krenuo prvim koracima, a i danas smo tu.

Kao što smo napisali, nije se moglo neprimjetiti veliki broj djevojčica koje su bile na svečanosti, ali nažalost kao i u drugim sportovima, sve se manje njih odvažuje trenirati, a to je i potvrdio Lokica:

- Kada gledam unatrag kad je sve to krenulo i danas, ogromna je razlika u ponašanju djevojčica. Prije tim curama nije bilo ništa teško što se tiče košarke, danas nije takva situacija s novim generacijama.

Međutim, Lokica je otkrio kako je klub više od sporta, te kako se trude djevojke kroz košarku naučiti, pa možemo reći- životu. Na brojnim mjestima se to često zaboravlja, ali ovdje nije takav slučaj: 

- Klub nije samo košarka. Mi ovdje djecu prije svega nastojimo socijalizirati, dati im jednu odgovornost prema obavezama, drugoj djeci, protivnicama. Mislim da to sve skupa koristi i u daljnjem životu. Jednom mi je jedan roditelj rekao: “Zamislite ona se prvi put otuširala sa svojim suigračicama”, a sve su to stvari koje su jako bitne u razvoju djeteta. Naravno da u sportu ima uvijek i lijepih, ali i ružnih trenutaka. Nikad nije sve jednostrano, ali u svakom slučaju sigurni smo da je puno djece steklo dobre navike. Uostalom, sve djevojke koje su prestale igrati, sve su na fakultetima i sve su uspješne žene sada, zaključio je Lokica. 

Žana Lelas, ostat će zapamćena zauvijek. Međutim, ne "samo" zbog njezinih velikih uspjeha u bogatoj karijeri i imena školske dvorane. Već zbog svih tih djevojaka koje prolaze kroz klub, i koje će naučeno na košarkaškom terenu, nastaviti primjenjivati kroz život.
