U ljeto 2012. José Mourinho tražio je nadogradnju veznog reda Reala, a nekadašnji napadač i sporrski direktor "kraljevskog kluba" Predrag Mijatović predložio mu je igrača kojeg je svojedobno imao u svojim bilješkama - Luku Modrića. Odudarao je hrvatski veznjak od profila kojeg je Mourinho tada tražio, jer nije bio ni visok ni jak, ali trener Reala prihvatio je sugestiju, pišu Sportske novosti.

Taj potpis, piše španjolska Marca, promijenio je povijest Reala. Luka Modrić predvodio je vezni red momčadi sa Santiago Bernabea do pet Liga prvaka. O svemu tome Mijatović je danas progovorio u velikom intervjuu za Marcu.

- U trogodišnjoj fazi moga rada kao sportskog direktora bilo je dosta pozitivnog. Osvojili smo dvije uzastopne lige nakon 18 godina, napravili smo puno promjena, doveli smo puno odličnih igrača poput Higuaína, Marcela, Pepea. Posljednje na čemu smo radili bio je dolazak Cristiana Ronalda. Onda je došlo do promjena, došli su drugi ljudi, a i oni su nastavili pobjeđivati. Ali to je Madrid. Kako osvojiti Ligu prvaka? Kao sportski direktor, da sam nastavio to raditi još koju godinu, možda bih je i osvojio, ali već je sam osvojio kao igrač, a sada ih Real osvaja puno. Moja generacija je bila jako dobra, i Galacticosi su imali svoje zlatno doba, ali ono što je ova generacija postigla u posljednjih deset-jedanaest godina je neponovljivo. Osvojiti pet Liga prvaka, osvojiti toliko titula... Kada odem u Modrićevu kuću i vidim gdje drži trofeje, to je kao muzej. Ima 25 titula plus Ballon d‘Or, zamislite! A ja mu kažem: "Lukita, sve će to jednog dana vrijediti puno više od svih tih novaca koje si uspio zaraditi kao nogometaš". Jer je neponovljiv i nedostajat će nam. Sad se nadamo petnaestom naslovu u Ligi prvaka, možda iduće godine, možemo mu se nadati dokle god su tu Kroos, Modrić, Benzema, a doći će i dobri igrači u budućnosti. Ali zadnjih deset godina... Nadam se da sam u krivu, ali jednog dana ćemo sa sjetom pričati o ovom razdoblju Reala - kazao je Predrag Mijatović, strijelac pobjedničkog gola u finalu Lige prvaka 1998. u kojem je Real trijumfom protiv Juventusa osvojio prvu europsku titulu nakon čak 32 godine.

Real Madrid, dodaje Mijatović, priprema se za život nakon što jednog dana sa scene siđe generacija koja je dominirala europskim nogometom, ali ne vjeruje kako bi potpisi Haalanda i Mbappea garantirali nove titule.

- Upravljanje Realom posljednjih godina je fantastično. Otišli su igrači za koje su mnogi mislili kako je bez njih nemoguće pobijediti, ali pobijedili su. Doveli su mlade, a tu prije svega mislim na Viniciusa i Rodryga, zatim Camavingu, Tchouaménija i Valverdea, koji je skoro naše dijete. U nadolazećim godinama doći će više mladih igrača, s veteranima koji su jezgra momčadi, poput Modrića, Kroosa ili Benzeme, plus Courtoisa koji je sjajan vratar. Bilo dosta jako dobrih kupovina, nekih neuspjeha, očito, poput Hazarda, koji nas je sve iznenadio, ali tko god pokušava taj i griješi. Ali ako ste u pravu puno više puta nego što griješite, onda radite dobro. Haaland i Mbappe? Veterani će otići i počet će nova era, ali nemate jamstva da ćete nastaviti s osvajanjima njihovim dolaskom. Uvjeren sam, baš uvjeren, da je ono što smo doživjeli u posljednjih deset godina od Reala neponovljivo - zaključio je Mijatović.

U ljeto 2012. José Mourinho tražio je nadogradnju veznog reda Reala, a nekadašnji napadač i sporrski direktor "kraljevskog kluba" Predrag Mijatović predložio mu je igrača kojeg je svojedobno imao u svojim bilješkama - Luku Modrića. Odudarao je hrvatski veznjak od profila kojeg je Mourinho tada tražio, jer nije bio ni visok ni jak, ali trener Reala prihvatio je sugestiju, pišu Sportske novosti.

Taj potpis, piše španjolska Marca, promijenio je povijest Reala. Luka Modrić predvodio je vezni red momčadi sa Santiago Bernabea do pet Liga prvaka. O svemu tome Mijatović je danas progovorio u velikom intervjuu za Marcu.

- U trogodišnjoj fazi moga rada kao sportskog direktora bilo je dosta pozitivnog. Osvojili smo dvije uzastopne lige nakon 18 godina, napravili smo puno promjena, doveli smo puno odličnih igrača poput Higuaína, Marcela, Pepea. Posljednje na čemu smo radili bio je dolazak Cristiana Ronalda. Onda je došlo do promjena, došli su drugi ljudi, a i oni su nastavili pobjeđivati. Ali to je Madrid. Kako osvojiti Ligu prvaka? Kao sportski direktor, da sam nastavio to raditi još koju godinu, možda bih je i osvojio, ali već je sam osvojio kao igrač, a sada ih Real osvaja puno. Moja generacija je bila jako dobra, i Galacticosi su imali svoje zlatno doba, ali ono što je ova generacija postigla u posljednjih deset-jedanaest godina je neponovljivo. Osvojiti pet Liga prvaka, osvojiti toliko titula... Kada odem u Modrićevu kuću i vidim gdje drži trofeje, to je kao muzej. Ima 25 titula plus Ballon d‘Or, zamislite! A ja mu kažem: "Lukita, sve će to jednog dana vrijediti puno više od svih tih novaca koje si uspio zaraditi kao nogometaš". Jer je neponovljiv i nedostajat će nam. Sad se nadamo petnaestom naslovu u Ligi prvaka, možda iduće godine, možemo mu se nadati dokle god su tu Kroos, Modrić, Benzema, a doći će i dobri igrači u budućnosti. Ali zadnjih deset godina... Nadam se da sam u krivu, ali jednog dana ćemo sa sjetom pričati o ovom razdoblju Reala - kazao je Predrag Mijatović, strijelac pobjedničkog gola u finalu Lige prvaka 1998. u kojem je Real trijumfom protiv Juventusa osvojio prvu europsku titulu nakon čak 32 godine.

Real Madrid, dodaje Mijatović, priprema se za život nakon što jednog dana sa scene siđe generacija koja je dominirala europskim nogometom, ali ne vjeruje kako bi potpisi Haalanda i Mbappea garantirali nove titule.

- Upravljanje Realom posljednjih godina je fantastično. Otišli su igrači za koje su mnogi mislili kako je bez njih nemoguće pobijediti, ali pobijedili su. Doveli su mlade, a tu prije svega mislim na Viniciusa i Rodryga, zatim Camavingu, Tchouaménija i Valverdea, koji je skoro naše dijete. U nadolazećim godinama doći će više mladih igrača, s veteranima koji su jezgra momčadi, poput Modrića, Kroosa ili Benzeme, plus Courtoisa koji je sjajan vratar. Bilo dosta jako dobrih kupovina, nekih neuspjeha, očito, poput Hazarda, koji nas je sve iznenadio, ali tko god pokušava taj i griješi. Ali ako ste u pravu puno više puta nego što griješite, onda radite dobro. Haaland i Mbappe? Veterani će otići i počet će nova era, ali nemate jamstva da ćete nastaviti s osvajanjima njihovim dolaskom. Uvjeren sam, baš uvjeren, da je ono što smo doživjeli u posljednjih deset godina od Reala neponovljivo - zaključio je Mijatović.
