Hrvatski nogometaš Luka Modrić bio je u udarnoj postavi Real Madrida u tek jednoj od tri dosadašnje pripremne utakmice, no nastojat će se izboriti za mjesto unatoč dolasku 103 milijuna eura vrijednog Juda Bellinghama, izjavio je bivši napadač Reala Predrag Mijatović.
- Modrića poznajem jako dobro. Odlučio je ostati u Real Madridu još godinu dana jer je svjestan da još uvijek može ponuditi kvalitetan nogomet. On ne može, i neće prihvatiti, da nije u udarnoj postavi - rekao je 53-godišnji Mijatović na radijskoj postaji Cadena SER.
Modrić, koji će za mjesec dana napuniti 38 godina, u lipnju je produžio ugovor do ljeta 2024. godine. Pripremama Real Madrida priključio se 19. srpnja, devet dana nakon što su u klupskom centru u Madridu počeli trenirati igrači koji ne igraju za reprezentacije.
Američke pripreme započeo je na klupi ušavši u 45. minuti protiv Milana (3-2), pa igrao do 61. minute s Manchester Unitedom (2-0), a onda je ušao na teren u 58. minuti susreta s Barcelonom (0-3).
Trener Carlo Ancelotti isprobava novi sustav 4-4-2 gdje u sredini, u obliku romba, forsira 20-godišnjeg Bellinghama kupljenog iz Borussije Dortmund. Njega drži iza dvojice napadača, a ispred trojice veznih, od kojih jedan stoji povučen. Stoga je nepoznato kakvu će ulogu Ancelotti namijeniti Modriću s obzirom da ima ukupno sedam veznih igrača.
- Luka će se boriti i trenirati kako bi bio u udarnoj postavi - napomenuo je Mijatović, napadač Reala od 1996. do 1999. i bivši sportski direktor tog kluba.
- Modrić ima veliko povjerenje u trenera, zna da će Ancelotti gledati tko je u najboljoj formi u određenom trenutku. Ne vjerujem da ti u Real Madridu netko može reći koga da staviš u igru - dodao je.
Ancelotti, koji nije definitivno odustao od stare formacije 4-3-3, rekao je nakon poraza od Barcelone da je htio vidjeti što mogu mladi veznjaci Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga i Aurelien Tchouameni.
- Što mogu Modrić i Kroos, to već otprije znam - napomenuo je.
Obojicu je uveo pola sata prije kraja kada je Real gubio s 0-1.
Ancelotti je poručio da će njih dvojica više minuta dobiti u idućoj pripremnoj utakmici s Juventusom, koja se u Orlandu igra u srijedu u 1.30 sati u noći po hrvatskom vremenu. To je posljednja provjera prije početka španjolskog prvenstva 12.kolovoza kada "kraljevski klub" gostuje kod Athletic Bilbaa.
Modrić, kapetan hrvatske reprezentacije, ove sezone je dokapetan Reala. Niti prvi kapetan, 33-godišnji branič Nacho Fernandez, nema zagarantirano mjesto u udarnoj postavi. Ova sezona trebala bi biti nastavak tranzicije, započete prije nekoliko godina, u kojoj bi mladi igrači trebali dobiti više vremena na terenu i tako formirati momčad za budućnost.
- Luka, s obzirom na svoje godine, morat će paziti na sebe još malo više, ali ako je odlučio ostati u Realu to je učinio da bi igrao - rekao je Mijatović.
- Vidjet ćemo što će biti tijekom sezone, no uvjeren sam da on neće prihvatiti da bude tek jedan od igrača - zaključio je.
Modrić igra za Real Madrid od ljeta 2012. te je s njim osvojio 23 trofeja.

Hrvatski nogometaš Luka Modrić bio je u udarnoj postavi Real Madrida u tek jednoj od tri dosadašnje pripremne utakmice, no nastojat će se izboriti za mjesto unatoč dolasku 103 milijuna eura vrijednog Juda Bellinghama, izjavio je bivši napadač Reala Predrag Mijatović.
- Modrića poznajem jako dobro. Odlučio je ostati u Real Madridu još godinu dana jer je svjestan da još uvijek može ponuditi kvalitetan nogomet. On ne može, i neće prihvatiti, da nije u udarnoj postavi - rekao je 53-godišnji Mijatović na radijskoj postaji Cadena SER.
Modrić, koji će za mjesec dana napuniti 38 godina, u lipnju je produžio ugovor do ljeta 2024. godine. Pripremama Real Madrida priključio se 19. srpnja, devet dana nakon što su u klupskom centru u Madridu počeli trenirati igrači koji ne igraju za reprezentacije.
Američke pripreme započeo je na klupi ušavši u 45. minuti protiv Milana (3-2), pa igrao do 61. minute s Manchester Unitedom (2-0), a onda je ušao na teren u 58. minuti susreta s Barcelonom (0-3).
Trener Carlo Ancelotti isprobava novi sustav 4-4-2 gdje u sredini, u obliku romba, forsira 20-godišnjeg Bellinghama kupljenog iz Borussije Dortmund. Njega drži iza dvojice napadača, a ispred trojice veznih, od kojih jedan stoji povučen. Stoga je nepoznato kakvu će ulogu Ancelotti namijeniti Modriću s obzirom da ima ukupno sedam veznih igrača.
- Luka će se boriti i trenirati kako bi bio u udarnoj postavi - napomenuo je Mijatović, napadač Reala od 1996. do 1999. i bivši sportski direktor tog kluba.
- Modrić ima veliko povjerenje u trenera, zna da će Ancelotti gledati tko je u najboljoj formi u određenom trenutku. Ne vjerujem da ti u Real Madridu netko može reći koga da staviš u igru - dodao je.
Ancelotti, koji nije definitivno odustao od stare formacije 4-3-3, rekao je nakon poraza od Barcelone da je htio vidjeti što mogu mladi veznjaci Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga i Aurelien Tchouameni.
- Što mogu Modrić i Kroos, to već otprije znam - napomenuo je.
Obojicu je uveo pola sata prije kraja kada je Real gubio s 0-1.
Ancelotti je poručio da će njih dvojica više minuta dobiti u idućoj pripremnoj utakmici s Juventusom, koja se u Orlandu igra u srijedu u 1.30 sati u noći po hrvatskom vremenu. To je posljednja provjera prije početka španjolskog prvenstva 12.kolovoza kada "kraljevski klub" gostuje kod Athletic Bilbaa.
Modrić, kapetan hrvatske reprezentacije, ove sezone je dokapetan Reala. Niti prvi kapetan, 33-godišnji branič Nacho Fernandez, nema zagarantirano mjesto u udarnoj postavi. Ova sezona trebala bi biti nastavak tranzicije, započete prije nekoliko godina, u kojoj bi mladi igrači trebali dobiti više vremena na terenu i tako formirati momčad za budućnost.
- Luka, s obzirom na svoje godine, morat će paziti na sebe još malo više, ali ako je odlučio ostati u Realu to je učinio da bi igrao - rekao je Mijatović.
- Vidjet ćemo što će biti tijekom sezone, no uvjeren sam da on neće prihvatiti da bude tek jedan od igrača - zaključio je.
Modrić igra za Real Madrid od ljeta 2012. te je s njim osvojio 23 trofeja.
