Svjetski dan lupusa obilježava se 10. svibnja kao podsjetnik na izazove s kojima se suočavaju milijuni ljudi diljem svijeta zbog ove autoimune bolesti. Lupus, ili sustavni eritemski lupus, predstavlja složen sindrom koji može imati različite manifestacije kod svakog pojedinca. Iako može zahvatiti gotovo svaki organ u tijelu, lupus često ostaje nedovoljno razumijen i nedovoljno prepoznat.

U Hrvatskoj, iako ne postoji točan registar oboljelih, procjenjuje se da lupusom boluje između 3000 i 3500 osoba, pri čemu većinu oboljelih čine žene. Profesor dr. sc. Branimir Anić, voditelj Referentnog centra Ministarstva zdravstva RH za sustavni eritemski lupus, ističe važnost podizanja svijesti o ovoj bolesti koja može imati ozbiljne posljedice na zdravlje. Lupus, kako objašnjava, uzrokuje poremećeno funkcioniranje imunosnog sustava, što rezultira napadom vlastitih tkiva i organa.

- Lupus dovodi do poremećenog funkcioniranja imunosnog sustava, što znači da imunosni sustav ne može prepoznati razliku između stranih virusa i bakterija te zdravih tkiva vlastitog tijela, te možemo reći da vlastiti imunosni sustav oštećuje vlastito tkivo i organe, zbog čega ga smatramo životno ugrožavajućom bolesti - pojašnjava prof. dr. sc. Anić, te dodaje da 90 posto novooboljelih čine mlade žene, no da mogu oboljeti praktički svi - žene i muškarci, odrasli i djeca.

Koji su simptomi

Simptomi lupusa mogu biti raznoliki, uključujući kožne promjene, umor, problem s koncentracijom, bolove ili otekline zglobova te povišenu tjelesnu temperaturu. Unatoč čestim predrasudama, važno je istaknuti da lupus nije zarazan niti nasljedan, ali jest doživotan.

Dijagnostika lupusa može biti izazovna, budući da simptomi često podsjećaju na druge bolesti, a često se postavlja tek nakon isključenja drugih mogućih uzroka. Zbog toga je ključno osigurati pravovremenu dijagnozu i liječenje, jer nedostatak adekvatne terapije može dovesti do ozbiljnih oštećenja različitih dijelova tijela i invaliditeta.

Upravo zato, timovi specijalista, uključujući reumatologe, dermatologe, ginekologe i druge, rade na dijagnozi i liječenju lupusa. Liječenje je često personalizirano za svakog pacijenta, s ciljem kontroliranja simptoma i sprečavanja daljnjih komplikacija.

Psihološka podrška

Važno je istaknuti i važnost psihološke podrške pacijentima oboljelim od lupusa. Mnogi se suočavaju s teškoćama prihvaćanja dijagnoze, ali redovita terapija, kontrola i suradnja s liječnicima mogu značajno poboljšati kvalitetu života.

- Budući da od lupusa najčešće obolijevaju žene u reproduktivnoj dobi, prirodno je da postanu zabrinute za mogućnost sigurne trudnoće. Za vrijeme moga studiranja, pacijenticama se savjetovalo izbjegavanje trudnoće, ali srećom medicina i stav struke s godinama su napredovali te je trudnoća kod većine bolesnica koje se danas liječe u našim reumatološkim odjelima imala povoljan tijek i za majku i za dijete, uz preduvjet da je trudnoća planirana i da bolesnica uđe u trudnoću s lupusom koji je u mirnoj fazi te da nema trajnih oštećenja vitalnih organa zbog bolesti - govori prof. dr. sc. Anić.

Hrvatsko reumatološko društvo aktivno radi na podizanju svijesti o lupusu i educiranju struke i pacijenata, s ciljem poboljšanja zdravstvene zaštite i ranijeg prepoznavanja ove bolesti.

- Nakon dobivanja dijagnoze, bolesnici se često preplaše jer je riječ o rijetkoj bolesti. Stoga bih poručio svojim pacijentima da ne očajavaju zbog dijagnoze, jer unatoč lupusu i s lupusom mogu voditi kvalitetan život. Redovitim uzimanjem terapije, redovitim kontrolama i suradnjom s liječnicima, lupus je bolest koju je moguće uspješno kontrolirati. Iako je pacijentima ponekad teško prihvatiti dijagnozu, moje je iskustvo da će većina oboljelih prihvatiti savjete liječnika vezane uz život s lupusom - zaključuje prof. dr. sc. Anić.

Svjetski dan lupusa podsjeća nas na važnost kontinuirane borbe protiv ove bolesti i pružanja podrške oboljelima.

Svjetski dan lupusa obilježava se 10. svibnja kao podsjetnik na izazove s kojima se suočavaju milijuni ljudi diljem svijeta zbog ove autoimune bolesti. Lupus, ili sustavni eritemski lupus, predstavlja složen sindrom koji može imati različite manifestacije kod svakog pojedinca. Iako može zahvatiti gotovo svaki organ u tijelu, lupus često ostaje nedovoljno razumijen i nedovoljno prepoznat.

U Hrvatskoj, iako ne postoji točan registar oboljelih, procjenjuje se da lupusom boluje između 3000 i 3500 osoba, pri čemu većinu oboljelih čine žene. Profesor dr. sc. Branimir Anić, voditelj Referentnog centra Ministarstva zdravstva RH za sustavni eritemski lupus, ističe važnost podizanja svijesti o ovoj bolesti koja može imati ozbiljne posljedice na zdravlje. Lupus, kako objašnjava, uzrokuje poremećeno funkcioniranje imunosnog sustava, što rezultira napadom vlastitih tkiva i organa.

- Lupus dovodi do poremećenog funkcioniranja imunosnog sustava, što znači da imunosni sustav ne može prepoznati razliku između stranih virusa i bakterija te zdravih tkiva vlastitog tijela, te možemo reći da vlastiti imunosni sustav oštećuje vlastito tkivo i organe, zbog čega ga smatramo životno ugrožavajućom bolesti - pojašnjava prof. dr. sc. Anić, te dodaje da 90 posto novooboljelih čine mlade žene, no da mogu oboljeti praktički svi - žene i muškarci, odrasli i djeca.

Koji su simptomi

Simptomi lupusa mogu biti raznoliki, uključujući kožne promjene, umor, problem s koncentracijom, bolove ili otekline zglobova te povišenu tjelesnu temperaturu. Unatoč čestim predrasudama, važno je istaknuti da lupus nije zarazan niti nasljedan, ali jest doživotan.

Dijagnostika lupusa može biti izazovna, budući da simptomi često podsjećaju na druge bolesti, a često se postavlja tek nakon isključenja drugih mogućih uzroka. Zbog toga je ključno osigurati pravovremenu dijagnozu i liječenje, jer nedostatak adekvatne terapije može dovesti do ozbiljnih oštećenja različitih dijelova tijela i invaliditeta.

Upravo zato, timovi specijalista, uključujući reumatologe, dermatologe, ginekologe i druge, rade na dijagnozi i liječenju lupusa. Liječenje je često personalizirano za svakog pacijenta, s ciljem kontroliranja simptoma i sprečavanja daljnjih komplikacija.

Psihološka podrška

Važno je istaknuti i važnost psihološke podrške pacijentima oboljelim od lupusa. Mnogi se suočavaju s teškoćama prihvaćanja dijagnoze, ali redovita terapija, kontrola i suradnja s liječnicima mogu značajno poboljšati kvalitetu života.

- Budući da od lupusa najčešće obolijevaju žene u reproduktivnoj dobi, prirodno je da postanu zabrinute za mogućnost sigurne trudnoće. Za vrijeme moga studiranja, pacijenticama se savjetovalo izbjegavanje trudnoće, ali srećom medicina i stav struke s godinama su napredovali te je trudnoća kod većine bolesnica koje se danas liječe u našim reumatološkim odjelima imala povoljan tijek i za majku i za dijete, uz preduvjet da je trudnoća planirana i da bolesnica uđe u trudnoću s lupusom koji je u mirnoj fazi te da nema trajnih oštećenja vitalnih organa zbog bolesti - govori prof. dr. sc. Anić.

Hrvatsko reumatološko društvo aktivno radi na podizanju svijesti o lupusu i educiranju struke i pacijenata, s ciljem poboljšanja zdravstvene zaštite i ranijeg prepoznavanja ove bolesti.

- Nakon dobivanja dijagnoze, bolesnici se često preplaše jer je riječ o rijetkoj bolesti. Stoga bih poručio svojim pacijentima da ne očajavaju zbog dijagnoze, jer unatoč lupusu i s lupusom mogu voditi kvalitetan život. Redovitim uzimanjem terapije, redovitim kontrolama i suradnjom s liječnicima, lupus je bolest koju je moguće uspješno kontrolirati. Iako je pacijentima ponekad teško prihvatiti dijagnozu, moje je iskustvo da će većina oboljelih prihvatiti savjete liječnika vezane uz život s lupusom - zaključuje prof. dr. sc. Anić.

Svjetski dan lupusa podsjeća nas na važnost kontinuirane borbe protiv ove bolesti i pružanja podrške oboljelima.
