Vedri, lijepi i prohladni dani siječnja izvukli su mene i brata da uredimo djedovinu koja se krčila desetljećima. Nas dvojica očistili smo stare, zapuštene masline i nacijepili nove sorte. Uklonili smo brojne smreke i bore te vratili ljepotu kamenih gromila i prastarih suhozida. Posadili smo i nove sorte. Prošle godine sam na ovim terenima posadio 30 lastovki.

Lastovka i šoltanka su, po mome mišljenju, naše dvije najbolje sorte, jer su dobre i redovite rodnosti, ali i izvrsne kvalitete ulja. Šoltani su sa svojom šoltankom to potvrdili 2019. na najvećoj svjetskoj smotri, a znanstveno i stručno je ispisano da je lastovka, sorta otoka Korčule, ujedno sorta s najvećim udjelom fenolnih spojeva u svojem ulju. Zbog toga je i zovu na Korčuli “čuvaricom ulja”, a ja bih dodao – i zdravlja.

Ove dvije naše autohtone zaštićene sorte po broju stabala čine 50 posto ukupnog sortimenta mojih maslina.

Zahvaljujući jednom vrijednom hvarskom maslinaru, Tomi Makjaniću, prije dvije godine dobio sam sorte maslina prve generacije superintenzivnih nasada, a to su klonovi sorti arbequina AS-1, arbosana I-43 i koroneiki I-38.

Uz njih sam dobio i sorte nastale križanjima tih klonova u laboratorijskim uvjetima, od kojih su stvorene “super sorte/hibridi”, poput oliane, koja je hibrid arbequine i arbosane, zatim sikitite, koja je hibrid arbequine i picuala.

Agromillora genetic programom, započetim u Španjolskoj 1998. godine, u suradnji s institutom u Bariju, stvorena je lecciana AOC-10, koja je hibrid između leccina i arbosane, te OAC-07, hibrid lecciane i arbosane. Dakle dvostrukim križanjem arbosane, koja je jedna od najrodnih sorti svijeta, dodali su sve pozitivne osobine lećina.

Ove sorte maslina stvorene su zbog svoje redovite rodnosti, a time i izostanka alternativnosti rađanja. Otporne su na bolesti, u prvom redu na paunovo oko. Slabije su bujnosti i manje zahtijevne rezidbe. Daju dobre prosječne randmane i visoku kvalitetu ulja.

Uvjeren sam da je budućnost upravo u ovim sortama, jer su klimatske promjene toliko intenzivne da naše autohtone sorte neće tako brzo evoluirati i prilagoditi se tim promjenama za našeg života. Ove sorte objedinjuju sve pozitivne karakteristike izvornih sorti maslina, od kojih su stvorene križanjem.

One će u mojim maslinicima rasti i razvijati se u relativno hladnijim zimskim uvjetima od onih u kojima su njihovi sortni prethodnici rasli. Time će doći još bolje do izražaja njihova rodnost uz manju bujnost.

Vjerujem da ćemo svi skupa ubrzo shvatiti da zbog klimatskih čimbenika u modernom maslinarstvu eksponencijalno rastu troškovi proizvodnje i da ćemo ih sve teže održavati, ako se ne prilagodimo svim tim promjenama.

Jedna od najvažnijih je saditi ove sorte stvorene za superintenzivni uzgoj, a nama će poslužiti za intenzivni. Samo one mogu po sadašnjim ekonomskim kriterijima modernog maslinarstva opravdati svoju produktivnost, sve drugo je upitno.

Vedri, lijepi i prohladni dani siječnja izvukli su mene i brata da uredimo djedovinu koja se krčila desetljećima. Nas dvojica očistili smo stare, zapuštene masline i nacijepili nove sorte. Uklonili smo brojne smreke i bore te vratili ljepotu kamenih gromila i prastarih suhozida. Posadili smo i nove sorte. Prošle godine sam na ovim terenima posadio 30 lastovki.

Lastovka i šoltanka su, po mome mišljenju, naše dvije najbolje sorte, jer su dobre i redovite rodnosti, ali i izvrsne kvalitete ulja. Šoltani su sa svojom šoltankom to potvrdili 2019. na najvećoj svjetskoj smotri, a znanstveno i stručno je ispisano da je lastovka, sorta otoka Korčule, ujedno sorta s najvećim udjelom fenolnih spojeva u svojem ulju. Zbog toga je i zovu na Korčuli “čuvaricom ulja”, a ja bih dodao – i zdravlja.

Ove dvije naše autohtone zaštićene sorte po broju stabala čine 50 posto ukupnog sortimenta mojih maslina.

Zahvaljujući jednom vrijednom hvarskom maslinaru, Tomi Makjaniću, prije dvije godine dobio sam sorte maslina prve generacije superintenzivnih nasada, a to su klonovi sorti arbequina AS-1, arbosana I-43 i koroneiki I-38.

Uz njih sam dobio i sorte nastale križanjima tih klonova u laboratorijskim uvjetima, od kojih su stvorene “super sorte/hibridi”, poput oliane, koja je hibrid arbequine i arbosane, zatim sikitite, koja je hibrid arbequine i picuala.

Agromillora genetic programom, započetim u Španjolskoj 1998. godine, u suradnji s institutom u Bariju, stvorena je lecciana AOC-10, koja je hibrid između leccina i arbosane, te OAC-07, hibrid lecciane i arbosane. Dakle dvostrukim križanjem arbosane, koja je jedna od najrodnih sorti svijeta, dodali su sve pozitivne osobine lećina.

Ove sorte maslina stvorene su zbog svoje redovite rodnosti, a time i izostanka alternativnosti rađanja. Otporne su na bolesti, u prvom redu na paunovo oko. Slabije su bujnosti i manje zahtijevne rezidbe. Daju dobre prosječne randmane i visoku kvalitetu ulja.

Uvjeren sam da je budućnost upravo u ovim sortama, jer su klimatske promjene toliko intenzivne da naše autohtone sorte neće tako brzo evoluirati i prilagoditi se tim promjenama za našeg života. Ove sorte objedinjuju sve pozitivne karakteristike izvornih sorti maslina, od kojih su stvorene križanjem.

One će u mojim maslinicima rasti i razvijati se u relativno hladnijim zimskim uvjetima od onih u kojima su njihovi sortni prethodnici rasli. Time će doći još bolje do izražaja njihova rodnost uz manju bujnost.

Vjerujem da ćemo svi skupa ubrzo shvatiti da zbog klimatskih čimbenika u modernom maslinarstvu eksponencijalno rastu troškovi proizvodnje i da ćemo ih sve teže održavati, ako se ne prilagodimo svim tim promjenama.

Jedna od najvažnijih je saditi ove sorte stvorene za superintenzivni uzgoj, a nama će poslužiti za intenzivni. Samo one mogu po sadašnjim ekonomskim kriterijima modernog maslinarstva opravdati svoju produktivnost, sve drugo je upitno.
