Što se događa s nasadima šimšira na Lokrumu, zbog čega naočigled izletnika rapidno propadaju? S predstavnicima Javne ustanove Rezervat Lokrum provjerili smo što je posrijedi i je li ugrožen jedan od najpoznatijih zelenih simbola Maksimilijanova otoka?
Više se ne suši
- Uočili smo sušenje šimšira te postupili sukladno pravilima struke. Uzorci zaraženih izbojaka su poslani na analizu ovlaštenim institucijama, te je potvrđena prisutnost gljivice Calonectria pseudonaviculata. Sukladno propisanim mjerama pristupilo se tretiranju fungicidima te se sušenje zaustavilo. Živica će se oporaviti, međutim šimšir je spororastuća vrsta stoga je potrebno vrijeme da bi se vratio u estetski zadovoljavajuću formu – javila nam je utješne vijesti Ozana Domijan, magistra šumarstva iz dubrovačke Javne gradske ustanove Rezervat Lokrum.

- Obična planika ili jagodnjak pripada porodici crnjuše (Ericaceae) i vazdazeleni je grm ili manje stablo uspravnih grana i guste krošnje. Cvjetovi su smješteni u visećim grozdastim cvatovima bijele do roza boje, a plod je boba zvana “maginja” koji sazrijeva istovremeno s cvatnjom – od listopada do prosinca. Plod je jestiv te se od njega prave pekmezi, rakije i vino, ali nije ih preporučljivo previše konzumirati jer mogu izazvati mučninu. To potvrđuje i drugi dio latinskog imena planike,Unedo - “unum tantum edo” u značenju: jedem samo jedan – ističe iz JU Rezervat Lokrum.

Na Lokrumu je obična planika ili jagodnjak prirodno prisutna u sklopu mješovite šume i makije crnike s crnim jasenom, u sklopu čiste, vazdazelene šume i makije crnike s mirtom, u sklopu makije divlje masline i tršlje ili somine, u sklopu mješovite šume alepskog bora i crnike i u sklopu šume alepskog bora sa sominom:
- Planika je vrlo važna vrsta naših mediteranskih šuma, sastavni dio šumske vegetacije u eumediteranskom i u toplijem dijelu submediteranskog vegetacijskog pojasa te kao autohtona vrsta ima opće prihvatljiv značaj u biološkoj raznolikosti i ekološkoj stabilnosti šumske vegetacije.

Što se događa s nasadima šimšira na Lokrumu, zbog čega naočigled izletnika rapidno propadaju? S predstavnicima Javne ustanove Rezervat Lokrum provjerili smo što je posrijedi i je li ugrožen jedan od najpoznatijih zelenih simbola Maksimilijanova otoka?
Više se ne suši
- Uočili smo sušenje šimšira te postupili sukladno pravilima struke. Uzorci zaraženih izbojaka su poslani na analizu ovlaštenim institucijama, te je potvrđena prisutnost gljivice Calonectria pseudonaviculata. Sukladno propisanim mjerama pristupilo se tretiranju fungicidima te se sušenje zaustavilo. Živica će se oporaviti, međutim šimšir je spororastuća vrsta stoga je potrebno vrijeme da bi se vratio u estetski zadovoljavajuću formu – javila nam je utješne vijesti Ozana Domijan, magistra šumarstva iz dubrovačke Javne gradske ustanove Rezervat Lokrum.

Domijan navodi i kako je bolest, tzv. palež šimširova lista dosad otkrivena iz u Velikoj Britaniji, Novom Zelandu, Njemačkoj, Francuskoj, Belgiji, Irskoj, Italiji i Nizozemskoj...
No, jedna druga biljna vrsta na Lokrumu nije u opasnosti, naprotiv. Svjedoči o tome poziv ljubiteljima prirode:
- Iako od ponedjeljka naš posljednji brod s Lokruma u 17 sati, ne propustite jesenske dane provesti u prirodi, idealni su za šetnju našim botaničkim vrtom, naići ćete na šareno drvo jagoda-maginje – pozivaju izletnike s društvenih mreža JU Rezervat Lokrum. Govore i o posebnostima ovog zimzelenog grma čije bobice unatoč privlačnim rumenim bojama nije preporučljivo previše konzumirati:

- Obična planika ili jagodnjak pripada porodici crnjuše (Ericaceae) i vazdazeleni je grm ili manje stablo uspravnih grana i guste krošnje. Cvjetovi su smješteni u visećim grozdastim cvatovima bijele do roza boje, a plod je boba zvana “maginja” koji sazrijeva istovremeno s cvatnjom – od listopada do prosinca. Plod je jestiv te se od njega prave pekmezi, rakije i vino, ali nije ih preporučljivo previše konzumirati jer mogu izazvati mučninu. To potvrđuje i drugi dio latinskog imena planike,Unedo - “unum tantum edo” u značenju: jedem samo jedan – ističe iz JU Rezervat Lokrum.

Na Lokrumu je obična planika ili jagodnjak prirodno prisutna u sklopu mješovite šume i makije crnike s crnim jasenom, u sklopu čiste, vazdazelene šume i makije crnike s mirtom, u sklopu makije divlje masline i tršlje ili somine, u sklopu mješovite šume alepskog bora i crnike i u sklopu šume alepskog bora sa sominom:
- Planika je vrlo važna vrsta naših mediteranskih šuma, sastavni dio šumske vegetacije u eumediteranskom i u toplijem dijelu submediteranskog vegetacijskog pojasa te kao autohtona vrsta ima opće prihvatljiv značaj u biološkoj raznolikosti i ekološkoj stabilnosti šumske vegetacije.
