Jovia Kisaakye, 20-godišnja poduzetnica iz Ugande, osmislila je sredstvo za odbijanje komaraca koje je sto posto organsko i proizvedeno na bazi mlijeka. Tako je pronašla je novi način prevencije malarije, ali se pobrinula i za velike količine odbačenog, pokvarenog mlijeka, piše Novatv.

Naime, prema podacima Nacionalne ustanove za razvoj mljekarstva, poljoprivrednici iz Ugande godišnje proizvedu oko 2,8 milijardi litara mlijeka. Od ukupne se količine konzumira samo trećina, a ostatak se pokvari zbog nedostatka hladnjaka.

Malarija je široko razvijena bolest na području Ugande, a uzrokuju je paraziti koje prenose zaraženi komarci vrste Anopheles. U svijetu je 2020. bilo zabilježeno 241 milijuna slučajeva malarije, dok je iste godine od bolesti umrlo 627.000 ljudi. Čak 95 posto slučajeva zaraženih malarijom potječu iz Afrike, dok je njih 96 posto u Africi završilo smrću, piše Novatv.

U Ugandi, čiju ukupnu populaciju čini 46 milijuna ljudi, svake se godine malarijom zarazi 14 milijuna ljudi. Djeca mlađa od pet godina čine 80 posto slučajeva malarije sa smrtnim ishodom u Africi.

Jovia je i sama nekoliko puta bila zaražena malarijom, zbog čega je bila hospitalizirana, a 2007. godine njezin je 1-godišnji brat od opake bolesti preminuo. Kao studentica statistike Kisaakye je kasnije počela obrađivati podatke o malariji, zbog čega je upoznala znanstvenike sa Sveučilišta Makerere u Kampali, agronoma Patricka Sserembu i prehrambenog tehnologa Blasia Kaweru. Trojac je zatim osnovao "Sparkle Agro Brand" te je mlada znanstvenica odlučila stvoriti losion protiv komaraca na bazi mliječnog praha. Iako prva laboratorijska istraživanja proizvoda uz pomoć Ministarstva zdravstva i Nacionalnog instituta za istraživanje insekata nisu prošla uspješno, tim nije odustajao i 2020. je dobio proizvod koji odbija komarce do 12 sati. Ovaj sto postotno organski proizvod, koji je svojim sastavom dobar i za njegu kože, napokon je bio spreman za tržište.

Brand kojeg je osnovalo troje mladih ljudi posvetio se i pokretu protiv bacanja hrane, a za proizvodnju sredstva odlučio je otkupljivati pokvareno mlijeko od malih poduzetnika. Ova tvrtka danas vrijedi oko milijun dolara i broji 4 stalna i 20 zaposlenika na određeno. Laboratorij je "The Sparkle" smjestio u selu Kitende, južno od Ugande, a proizvod trenutačno otkupljuju razne humanitarne organizacije, ljekarne i trgovine u Ugandi i Kongu. Sljedeći korak mladih izumitelja je insekticid na bazi mlijeka.

Jovia Kisaakye, 20-godišnja poduzetnica iz Ugande, osmislila je sredstvo za odbijanje komaraca koje je sto posto organsko i proizvedeno na bazi mlijeka. Tako je pronašla je novi način prevencije malarije, ali se pobrinula i za velike količine odbačenog, pokvarenog mlijeka, piše Novatv.

Naime, prema podacima Nacionalne ustanove za razvoj mljekarstva, poljoprivrednici iz Ugande godišnje proizvedu oko 2,8 milijardi litara mlijeka. Od ukupne se količine konzumira samo trećina, a ostatak se pokvari zbog nedostatka hladnjaka.

Malarija je široko razvijena bolest na području Ugande, a uzrokuju je paraziti koje prenose zaraženi komarci vrste Anopheles. U svijetu je 2020. bilo zabilježeno 241 milijuna slučajeva malarije, dok je iste godine od bolesti umrlo 627.000 ljudi. Čak 95 posto slučajeva zaraženih malarijom potječu iz Afrike, dok je njih 96 posto u Africi završilo smrću, piše Novatv.

U Ugandi, čiju ukupnu populaciju čini 46 milijuna ljudi, svake se godine malarijom zarazi 14 milijuna ljudi. Djeca mlađa od pet godina čine 80 posto slučajeva malarije sa smrtnim ishodom u Africi.

Jovia je i sama nekoliko puta bila zaražena malarijom, zbog čega je bila hospitalizirana, a 2007. godine njezin je 1-godišnji brat od opake bolesti preminuo. Kao studentica statistike Kisaakye je kasnije počela obrađivati podatke o malariji, zbog čega je upoznala znanstvenike sa Sveučilišta Makerere u Kampali, agronoma Patricka Sserembu i prehrambenog tehnologa Blasia Kaweru. Trojac je zatim osnovao "Sparkle Agro Brand" te je mlada znanstvenica odlučila stvoriti losion protiv komaraca na bazi mliječnog praha. Iako prva laboratorijska istraživanja proizvoda uz pomoć Ministarstva zdravstva i Nacionalnog instituta za istraživanje insekata nisu prošla uspješno, tim nije odustajao i 2020. je dobio proizvod koji odbija komarce do 12 sati. Ovaj sto postotno organski proizvod, koji je svojim sastavom dobar i za njegu kože, napokon je bio spreman za tržište.

Brand kojeg je osnovalo troje mladih ljudi posvetio se i pokretu protiv bacanja hrane, a za proizvodnju sredstva odlučio je otkupljivati pokvareno mlijeko od malih poduzetnika. Ova tvrtka danas vrijedi oko milijun dolara i broji 4 stalna i 20 zaposlenika na određeno. Laboratorij je "The Sparkle" smjestio u selu Kitende, južno od Ugande, a proizvod trenutačno otkupljuju razne humanitarne organizacije, ljekarne i trgovine u Ugandi i Kongu. Sljedeći korak mladih izumitelja je insekticid na bazi mlijeka.

Jovia Kisaakye, 20-godišnja poduzetnica iz Ugande, osmislila je sredstvo za odbijanje komaraca koje je sto posto organsko i proizvedeno na bazi mlijeka. Tako je pronašla je novi način prevencije malarije, ali se pobrinula i za velike količine odbačenog, pokvarenog mlijeka, piše Novatv.

Naime, prema podacima Nacionalne ustanove za razvoj mljekarstva, poljoprivrednici iz Ugande godišnje proizvedu oko 2,8 milijardi litara mlijeka. Od ukupne se količine konzumira samo trećina, a ostatak se pokvari zbog nedostatka hladnjaka.

Malarija je široko razvijena bolest na području Ugande, a uzrokuju je paraziti koje prenose zaraženi komarci vrste Anopheles. U svijetu je 2020. bilo zabilježeno 241 milijuna slučajeva malarije, dok je iste godine od bolesti umrlo 627.000 ljudi. Čak 95 posto slučajeva zaraženih malarijom potječu iz Afrike, dok je njih 96 posto u Africi završilo smrću, piše Novatv.

U Ugandi, čiju ukupnu populaciju čini 46 milijuna ljudi, svake se godine malarijom zarazi 14 milijuna ljudi. Djeca mlađa od pet godina čine 80 posto slučajeva malarije sa smrtnim ishodom u Africi.

Jovia je i sama nekoliko puta bila zaražena malarijom, zbog čega je bila hospitalizirana, a 2007. godine njezin je 1-godišnji brat od opake bolesti preminuo. Kao studentica statistike Kisaakye je kasnije počela obrađivati podatke o malariji, zbog čega je upoznala znanstvenike sa Sveučilišta Makerere u Kampali, agronoma Patricka Sserembu i prehrambenog tehnologa Blasia Kaweru. Trojac je zatim osnovao "Sparkle Agro Brand" te je mlada znanstvenica odlučila stvoriti losion protiv komaraca na bazi mliječnog praha.
