Projekt čiji je cilj stvoriti sustav prilagodbe metoda kontrole i regulacije brojnosti komaraca u Hrvatskoj u kontekstu klimatskih promjena predstavili su hrvatski znanstvenici u četvrtak.
Riječ je o projektu koji provodi Odjel za biologiju Sveučilišta J.J. Strossmayera u Osijeku i Institut Ruđer Bošković u Zagrebu, a financira se iz Europskog fonda za regionalni razvoj u iznosu od oko 3,5 milijuna kuna, od čega je oko 2,9 milijuna kuna bespovratnih sredstava.
Fond za zaštitu okoliša i energetsku učinkovitost projekt podupire u iznosu od oko 380.000 kuna.
Klimatske promjene glavni su pokretač širenja invazivnih vrsta komaraca i promjene dinamike autohtonih vrsta. Stoga je nužno prilagoditi mjere i strategije kontrole populacije komaraca novonastalim uvjetima, na što je fokusiran ovaj projekt, poručili su znanstvenici.
Dr. Branimir Hackenberger Kutuzović s osječkog sveučilišta istaknuo je da su komarci najopasnije životinje na svijetu po broju smrti koje uzrokuju.
"Prema statistici Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije od pola milijuna do dva milijuna ljudi godišnje umire od posljedica uboda komarca, to jest od bolesti koje prenose", rekao je.
U Osijeku problem komaraca postoji već niz godina i do sada je bio ograničen uglavnom na istočnu Hrvatsku, ali u zadnjih 15 do 20 godina proširio se i na otoke, pogotovo Kvarnera ali i na Dalmaciju.
Izvijestio je da su dva tima znanstvenika, jedan s Instituta Ruđer Bošković, a drugi s Odjela s biologiju, napravili internet aplikaciju koja prognozira što će se događati s populacijom komaraca i koja optimizira metode njihovog tretiranja, da se uz što manju količinu sredstava postigne što bolji rezultat.
Dr. Tin Klanjšček s Instituta Ruđer Bošković kaže da se tim projektom na temelju vremenskih prognoza omogućuje predviđanje razvoja i kretanja komaraca deset dana unaprijed.
Kaže da se sada lokalne zajednice snalaze svaka za sebe na nestandardizirani način, a rezultat toga su veliki troškovi tretmana i loš uspjeh.
"Nove vrste dolaze i nemamo sustav s kojim bi njima upravljali", upozoroio je Klanjšček na predstavljanju projekta na zagrebačkom Agronomskom fakultetu.
Istaknuo je da je njihov projekt alat koji omogućava da se o tom problemu razmišlja cjelovito i dugoročno i koji treba dalje razvijati.

Projekt čiji je cilj stvoriti sustav prilagodbe metoda kontrole i regulacije brojnosti komaraca u Hrvatskoj u kontekstu klimatskih promjena predstavili su hrvatski znanstvenici u četvrtak.
Riječ je o projektu koji provodi Odjel za biologiju Sveučilišta J.J. Strossmayera u Osijeku i Institut Ruđer Bošković u Zagrebu, a financira se iz Europskog fonda za regionalni razvoj u iznosu od oko 3,5 milijuna kuna, od čega je oko 2,9 milijuna kuna bespovratnih sredstava.
Fond za zaštitu okoliša i energetsku učinkovitost projekt podupire u iznosu od oko 380.000 kuna.
Klimatske promjene glavni su pokretač širenja invazivnih vrsta komaraca i promjene dinamike autohtonih vrsta. Stoga je nužno prilagoditi mjere i strategije kontrole populacije komaraca novonastalim uvjetima, na što je fokusiran ovaj projekt, poručili su znanstvenici.
Dr. Branimir Hackenberger Kutuzović s osječkog sveučilišta istaknuo je da su komarci najopasnije životinje na svijetu po broju smrti koje uzrokuju.
"Prema statistici Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije od pola milijuna do dva milijuna ljudi godišnje umire od posljedica uboda komarca, to jest od bolesti koje prenose", rekao je.
U Osijeku problem komaraca postoji već niz godina i do sada je bio ograničen uglavnom na istočnu Hrvatsku, ali u zadnjih 15 do 20 godina proširio se i na otoke, pogotovo Kvarnera ali i na Dalmaciju.
Izvijestio je da su dva tima znanstvenika, jedan s Instituta Ruđer Bošković, a drugi s Odjela s biologiju, napravili internet aplikaciju koja prognozira što će se događati s populacijom komaraca i koja optimizira metode njihovog tretiranja, da se uz što manju količinu sredstava postigne što bolji rezultat.
Dr. Tin Klanjšček s Instituta Ruđer Bošković kaže da se tim projektom na temelju vremenskih prognoza omogućuje predviđanje razvoja i kretanja komaraca deset dana unaprijed.
Kaže da se sada lokalne zajednice snalaze svaka za sebe na nestandardizirani način, a rezultat toga su veliki troškovi tretmana i loš uspjeh.
"Nove vrste dolaze i nemamo sustav s kojim bi njima upravljali", upozoroio je Klanjšček na predstavljanju projekta na zagrebačkom Agronomskom fakultetu.
Istaknuo je da je njihov projekt alat koji omogućava da se o tom problemu razmišlja cjelovito i dugoročno i koji treba dalje razvijati.
